Water, Water All Around

(whisper)...Are You Constipated?!!

Your common complaints might just be because you aren't getting enough water!

Are you experiecing:

Headache - Triggered by low blood volume, the blood vessels constrict causing head pain
Constipation - Water helps move food through your system
Dizziness - With blood volume low pressure drops, especially when standing quickly
Feeling Hungry - Drink a glass of water first and see if it is really hunger
Dark Yellow Pee - A bigger concentration of waste in relation to water will cause this
Tired - Oxygen concentration in blood is decreased, it slows whole body down
Feeling Hot - Sweat cools us down, if dehydrated, no sweat - you can overheat
Dry Mouth - Self explanatory!
Muscle Cramps - Electrolyte imbalance can cause muscles to contract involuntarily

Looking Old! - Being properly hydrated keeps our skim plump and young looking!

As you can see, water is essential to keep all of our systems running smoothly.  Many of my clients ask me what they can drink instead of good ol' H2O...

  1. Lemon Water - great first thing in the morning, this helps the body flush out waste and gets a vitamin C immunity boost.
  2. Herbal Tea - Seeping herbs and spices in hot water is a way to cut down on caffeine and boost nutrients.  Ginger is great for your tummy, chamomile calms you down, and spearmint is energizing.  Try all kinds of herbs and spices.
  3. Green Juice or Smoothie - Juicing is a quick way to load your body with easily absorbed nutrients, and only uses the juice of veggies and fruits.  Smoothies are blended so the whole veggie and fruit is in the drink, providing you with fiber also.  Try to keep a ration of 4/1 of veggies and fruit to prevent a sugar rush.  I love spinach, cucumber, peppers, celery and apple!
  4. Coconut Water - Don't believe all the hype of it having super high electrolyte content, but it does have more than regular water, and is a good change of taste.

Ok, there you go - now, remember, that Margaritas in the hot sun will make you more dehydrated!  So, if you don't want to be constipated or look old, gulp that water down before, during, and after you imbibe!
